Welcome to 45's Alive!
How exciting is this?
I'll tell you how much -- it's coolness cubed. Or it's "way cool", or it's awesome, or...whatEVER!
45's ALIVE! is what I call my show, which plays the music of the 50's and early 60's -- a time when rock music began setting down its roots, and for me, the most exciting time in rock history BTB (Before the Beatles). I take my experience of growing up "bi-coastal", that is born in the Bronx, and later becoming a beach girl, living in Santa Monica. So, I play the best of both coasts, from Dion and the Belmonts to the "L.A. Sound" of Richie Valens or Jesse Belvin. Throw in some rockabilly, some great girl-group sound, plus a few vintage sounds from the early, early fifties, and you have 45's ALIVE!
I broadcast live from the Cherry-Pink Roller Rink, or the Deep-Pink Submarine, depending on the weather. Lately, we've been going under water because it's been so **** hot. There's never a dull moment with the crew I've assembled, or the drop-ins, who seem to flock to the Radio Bird Street entrance every other Sunday to join the Bronx Girl.
Hey, see you on August 6th, when I should be back in the roller rink, weather permitting. You can always post your requests here on my blog or send them to: bronxgirl44@hotmail.com
